London-based Saudi DJ and broadcaster whose SWANA-centered sets — and a viral Boiler Room with her dad on oud — rewired the UK dance floor.
Nooriyah is a Saudi-born, London-based DJ, producer and radio presenter who has become the UK's most visible champion of South-West Asian and North African club music. Raised partly in Japan, she founded Middle of Nowhere, the London platform spotlighting SWANA DJs, and curated its landmark Boiler Room in November 2022 — the first SWANA line-up curation on Boiler Room UK, where she brought her father out to play oud mid-set and the footage went viral. She has produced for BBC radio and recorded for Resident Advisor's podcast series, arguing in every medium that the region's music belongs in the center of the dance floor, not its margins.
