What we collect

Information you give us

• Newsletter signup: your email address.

• Contact form: your name, email address, and the content of your message.

• Submit Your Work: your name, email address, submission type, and the description and links you provide about an artist or project. Submitting requires ticking a consent box.

Information collected automatically

• Standard server and analytics data: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP.

• Site search terms you enter in the Creative Index.

We do not knowingly collect special category data (health, religion, political opinion, sexual orientation) and ask that you do not send it to us. We do not collect payment information, because we do not sell anything through this site.

Why we use it

• To send the newsletter you asked for. Legal basis: your consent.

• To reply to you and to assess submissions for editorial coverage. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a publication, and your consent where you submitted material.

• To understand what is read and keep the site working. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.

Who processes your data

We use third parties to run the site. Each acts as a processor and holds your data under its own terms:

• Framer (framer.com) hosts this site, serves its pages, and handles form submissions and site analytics.

• [EMAIL PROVIDER] delivers the newsletter, if and when a provider is connected.

Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.

• Contact messages: up to 24 months.

• Submissions: up to 24 months, so we can revisit work we did not cover immediately.

• Analytics: retained in aggregate.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing; we do not sell or share personal data as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

To exercise any right, email privacy@ghurbarecords.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for asking.

Being written about

Ghurba Records is a publication. We write about artists, executives and public figures using published sources, and we maintain profiles in our Creative Index. This is journalism, and the legal basis is our legitimate interest in freedom of expression and information.

If a profile about you contains a factual error, or you want to discuss its content or the photograph used, contact corrections@ghurbarecords.com. We take that seriously and our approach is set out in our Editorial Standards and Corrections Policy.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we will update the date on this page and, where the change is significant, say so in the newsletter.
