Tunisian producer and DJ deconstructing club music with Arab rhythms — one of experimental electronics' most uncompromising voices.
Deena Abdelwahed is a Tunisian DJ and producer, born and raised in Qatar and based in Toulouse since the mid-2010s. Signed to the French label InFiné, she has built an international reputation for club music that refuses the genre's defaults: her albums, including Jbal Rrsas (2023), bend Arab rhythmic structures and vocal traditions into hard-edged, experimental techno. A fixture of festivals from MUTEK to CTM, she represents the generation of North African electronic artists who left home to be heard and then made the diaspora itself the subject of the sound.
