Copyright, Image Attribution and Takedown

This page explains who owns what on ghurbarecords.com and how to raise a copyright concern. We would rather hear from you and fix something than have you find it unaddressed.
Our editorial text
Articles written by the Ghurba Team are copyright [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link. Republishing full articles requires written permission.
Photographs in the Creative Index and articles
Ghurba Records does not claim ownership of the photographs used to illustrate profiles and articles. They come from several categories, and the rules differ:
• Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia. Many profile photographs originate here. These are published under Creative Commons licences, most commonly CC BY-SA, which require attribution to the photographer and preservation of the licence terms.
• Press and publicity photographs. Some images originate from published press coverage and official artist or company channels. Copyright remains with the photographer or the commissioning outlet.
• Material supplied to us by artists and their representatives through the Submit Your Work process, used under the licence described in our Submission Terms.
Attribution status
We are working through a full photographer-level attribution audit of the Creative Index. Until that audit is complete, per-image credits are not yet displayed on every profile. This is a known gap, not a claim of ownership, and we are addressing it. If you are the photographer or rights holder of an image on this site, we want to credit you correctly or remove it, whichever you prefer.
Takedown requests
To request removal or correction of an image or any other material, email copyright@ghurbarecords.com with:
• The page URL and a description of the specific material.
• Evidence of your ownership or authority to act for the owner.
• Whether you want the material credited, replaced, or removed.
• Your contact details.
We aim to acknowledge within 5 working days and to act on valid requests promptly. We will remove contested material while we assess a claim rather than leave it up during a dispute.
Trade marks
Artist names, label names and logos referred to on this site belong to their respective owners and are used to identify and report on those parties. Their use here does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
