Ma'an Abu Taleb is a Jordanian writer and editor who grew up in Amman and lives in London. In 2012 he co-founded Ma3azef, the online magazine that became the Arab world's most influential music publication, covering everything from mahraganat to experimental electronics with a critical seriousness the scene had rarely been given. He is also the author of the boxing novel All the Battles, published in English translation by Hoopoe. His work sits at the center of the infrastructure question: who writes about Arabic music, in Arabic, on its own terms.
