The former lead singer of Mashrou' Leila, and one of the most prominent openly queer voices in Arabic language music.

Hamed Sinno fronted Mashrou' Leila, the Beirut formed alternative rock band, from its founding through its 2022 disbandment, writing lyrics that tackled sexuality, state violence, and Lebanese politics with a directness that made the band both beloved and, in several countries, banned outright.

Their sound paired orchestral arrangement with rock instrumentation and Sinno's operatic, genre-crossing vocal delivery. Since the band's split, Sinno has continued as a solo musician and writer, based between Beirut and the United States.
